Our Approach

Risk-First Prop Trading: Protect the Account Before Chasing Profit

Prop firm evaluations reward traders who survive. Tradeshala teaches risk management before entries, because a single rule breach ends an evaluation no matter how good the strategy is.

Why most evaluations fail

Typical failures come from oversized positions, revenge trades after a loss and ignoring the daily loss limit — not from a weak setup.

The rules we train first

Every student builds a written risk plan before placing practice trades.

  • Fixed risk per trade as a small percentage of the account
  • A personal daily stop set well inside the firm's daily loss limit
  • Position size calculated from stop distance, never from conviction
  • Maximum trades per day to prevent overtrading
  • Journal review of every trade with a mentor

Profit targets come second

Once risk is controlled, we work on reaching targets steadily over the evaluation window instead of trying to pass in a day.

Honest expectations

Not everyone passes an evaluation, and passing does not guarantee ongoing payouts. Our goal is to make sure you attempt one prepared, with a plan you can follow.

Trading futures involves substantial risk of loss. Tradeshala provides education and evaluation preparation; it does not guarantee funding, profits or payouts. Funded accounts are issued by independent prop firms under their own rules.

Frequently asked questions

What does risk-first mean?

Defining how much you can lose per trade and per day before deciding what to trade.

Will this slow down passing an evaluation?

It can take more days, but most evaluations allow enough time, and avoiding a breach matters more than speed.

Do you teach a specific strategy?

Yes, price action and liquidity concepts on futures — always inside the same risk rules.
